Kenya Harlequin forward Charlton Mokua is seeking financial aid from well-wishers to help him and his family settle hospital bills for his ailing father, Permenas Mokua.

The former Kabras and Nakuru loose forward said his father who was previously diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2019, is suffering from a prostrate illness and is currently at Kisii Level 5 hospital.

He added that his father is scheduled to undergo prostate surgery at the same hospital but financial constraints have proved to be a hindrance with the surgery set to cost over Kshs 250,000.

“My dad Permenas Mokua was Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/dementia in 2019. A year later on the medical tests he was diagnosed with a prostrate illness.

“Life has never been the same for our family since then. Dementia is a degenerative brain disease that worsen slowly as time goes by and is only controlled with daily medication. A lot of money goes to his care and medication on a monthly basis but our resources are drained as a family and we are asking for financial support concerning his hospital bills, he is scheduled for a prostrate surgery and the NHIF insurance alone cannot cover those costs. Any willing well wishers can reach out or channel their contributions to 0700246040 (Charlton Mokua),” Mokua told Scrummage Africa.
