Mwamba RFC have made one of the boldest statements of the transfer window after unveiling a host of new signings for both their men’s and women’s teams, with former Nakuru RFC speedster Hanningtone Wabwire headlining an impressive recruitment drive ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Wabwire, renowned for his blistering pace and ability to beat defenders in open space, joins Kulabu from Nakuru RFC. His arrival is expected to inject pace and finishing ability into Mwamba’s backline as the club seeks to do well in 7s and 15s.
The club has also strengthened its backline with the signing of Raynold Anduvate from Impala RFC, while Zoellick Buyuni crosses over from Stallions.
Former Embu RFC duo Benjamin Wanyonyi and Joshua Otieno have also completed moves to Nairobi.
Mwamba have continued to invest in depth by registering Branon Chesoni, John Senior Chesoli, and Jeremiah Were through the New Player Registration (NPR) category.

Further additions include Jerome Mikaisi from Karatina University, Maxwell Osoro Ochieng from Makueni Ravens, and former Strathmore Leos pair Abdul Malik and Sullivan Japaso, giving the Black Sharks greater competition across several positions.
The recruitment drive extends beyond the men’s team, with Mwamba making a significant investment in their women’s squad.
The club has signed 16 players, the majority arriving from Multimedia University, in a move aimed at strengthening the team’s depth and competitiveness.
Among those joining are Faith Wavinya Mwololo, Abigael Mitchel, Shinaz Machio, Valentine Kerubo Ochego, Laurine Ngaira, Jane Awino Odhiambo, Tracy Akinyi, Natalia Wambui Nandwa, Everlyne Adhiambo Ouma, Sharon Iminza, Miriam Akinyi, Anabel Katenje Mukabwa, Margaret Achieng Okore, Quelyne Nanjala Wanyonyi, Branice Mideva, and Ann Anyango.
The women’s side has also secured the signature of Brenda Ogembo from Kenya Harlequin, adding valuable top-flight experience to the squad.
