The pool stage of the 2026 Dala 7s concluded on Saturday, August 1, with Zetech Oaks, Kenya Harlequins, Daystar Falcons and Strathmore Leos booking the remaining places in the Cup quarter-finals.
The quartet joined KCB Rugby, Menengai Oilers, Mwamba RFC and Kabras Sugar RFC, who had already secured qualification after winning their opening two pool matches.
Zetech qualify FOR Dala 7s quarters as KCB held by MMUST
In Pool A, Zetech Oaks claimed the second quarter-final spot after edging Impala RFC 19-14 in their final pool match. The victory saw Zetech finish second on six points, while Impala exited the tournament without a win.
Defending champions KCB Rugby were made to work hard by a determined MMUST Rugby Club, requiring a last-minute try from George Ooro to earn a 19-19 draw. The result saw KCB finish top of the pool on seven points, while MMUST bowed out after finishing third on four points.

Menengai finish perfect as Harlequins advance
Menengai Oilers completed the group stage with a perfect record after defeating Mombasa Rugby Club 26-0 to top Pool B with the maximum nine points.
Kenya Harlequins secured the second qualification spot after overcoming Blak Blad 26-7 to finish on six points. Blak Blad placed third with three points after their lone victory over Mombasa, while Mombasa ended the day without a win.

Daystar edge through as Kisumu fall short
In pool C hosts Kisumu RFC saw their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals ended after a 26-17 defeat to Mwamba RFC, who completed the pool stage with a perfect nine points.
Daystar Falcons claimed the second qualification spot with a 12-7 victory over Nondescripts RFC in their final pool match.
Daystar, Nondies and Kisumu all finished on three points, but Daystar progressed courtesy of a superior points difference of 0, ahead of Nondies (-7) and Kisumu (-29).

Kabras dominate as Leos join quarters
Kabras Sugar RFC completed a flawless pool campaign with a 33-0 victory over Nakuru RFC, finishing top of Pool D on nine points.
Strathmore Leos secured the final quarter-final place after thrashing Embu RFC 53-0 to finish second with six points.

Nakuru finished third on three points and were eliminated, while Embu ended bottom of the pool after losing all three of their matches.
The Cup quarter-finals will now feature KCB Rugby, Zetech Oaks, Menengai Oilers, Kenya Harlequins, Mwamba RFC, Daystar Falcons, Kabras Sugar RFC and Strathmore Leos as the battle for the 2026 Dala 7s title moves into the knockout rounds.
