KCB Rugby, Menengai Oilers, Mwamba RFC and Kabras Sugar RFC secured places in the Cup quarter-finals after maintaining unbeaten starts in the second round of pool matches at the 2026 Dala 7s in Kisumu.
KCB maintain perfect start as MMUST bounce back
In Pool A efending champions KCB Rugby booked their place in the last eight with a commanding 43-12 victory over Zetech Oaks.
Zetech struck first through George Omondi, with Johnson Wafula adding the conversion for a 7-5 lead after KCB had crossed for an early unconverted try. The Bankers responded through Lionel Ajeliti, before Jenkins Kipruto, whose try was converted by Brian Wahinya, and Vincent Onyala helped KCB open a 17-7 halftime lead.
KCB dominated the second half to complete a 43-12 victory and move to the top of Pool A with six points.
Earlier, MMUST Rugby Club recovered from their opening defeat to beat Impala RFC 19-5 for their first win of the tournament. MMUST moved to three points, level with Zetech Oaks, while Impala remained bottom of the pool without a point after two matches.

Menengai edge Blak Blad to reach Dala 7s quarters
In Pool B, Menengai Oilers booked their place in the quarter-finals after edging Blak Blad 14-5 in a closely contested match.
Blak Blad suffered a setback after Obat Kuke was sent off following a second yellow card, with Menengai scoring late to claim their second successive victory and move to six points at the top of the standings.
Kenya Harlequins also registered their first win of the tournament, beating Mombasa Rugby Club 17-0, while Mombasa remained without a victory after two matches.

Mwamba stay unbeaten as Nondies recover
Mwamba RFC made it two wins from two after holding off Daystar Falcons for a 19-14 victory to seal a place in the quarter-finals and move top of Pool C with six points.
Hosts Kisumu RFC were unable to build on their opening-round success, falling 34-12 to Nondescripts RFC, who bounced back from their first-round defeat to claim their first win of the tournament.
Nondies moved into second place on three points, level with Kisumu, while Daystar remained bottom of the pool after losing both of their matches.

Kabras hit half-century as Leos revive campaign
Kabras Sugar continued their impressive start to the tournament by thrashing Embu RFC 52-0 to secure a quarter-final berth.
The Sugarmen ran in eight tries, with Mathias Osimbo grabbing a hat-trick. Eric Cantona, Roy Maruti, Adrian Khwesa and Michael Lukusi were also among the scorers as Kabras crossed the 50-point mark for the second consecutive pool match.
Elsewhere, Strathmore Leos revived their campaign with a 33-19 comeback victory over Nakuru RFC to earn their first win of the tournament.
The result left both Strathmore and Nakuru on three points heading into their decisive final pool matches, while Kabras sit comfortably at the top of Pool D with six points and a guaranteed place in the quarter-finals.
