The road to the national championships has begun after the pools for the Nyanza Region Schools Rugby 7s Championships were unveiled.
The tournament will feature 24 schools, with 12 teams in each category divided into four pools of three.
Teams will be looking to make a strong start in the round-robin phase as they chase knockout qualification and a chance to represent the region at the national games.
In the boys’ competition, Pool A brings together Chianda, Ambira and Ratanga. Pool B features Anjego, Cardinal and Bong’ota, while Pool C comprises Nyabondo, Nyambaria and Kanga.

Pool D will see Gendia battle Otieno Oyoo and Nyansiogo for a place in the next round.
The girls’ tournament also promises fierce competition. Pool A consists of Sigoti, Enkinda and Sindo, while Pool B has Nyagichence, Nyakach and Nyakongo.
Pool C features Moi Suba, Asumbi and Nyabisase, with Pool D bringing together Sidindi, Komolo Rume and Rangenyo.
