Details for the Kenya Cup playoff have been revealed ahead of the matches slated for Saturday 16 March 2024.

The weekend matches will determine the teams advancing to the semifinals.

Menengai Oilers are set to face Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Oilers settled for third place after winning nine out of their 11 matches this season, accumulating 42 points.

Kenyatta University finished sixth with 24 points. The showdown between Oilers and Blad will take place in Nakuru as they vie for a spot against Kenya Cup side KCB Rugby in the semis.

In the second playoff match, Nondies will travel to Kenya Harlequin’s backyard RFUEA Grounds on Saturday  at 4:00 p.m as they aim for a place in the first semi-final against Kabras RFC.

Kenya Harlequin secured the fourth spot for the second consecutive season, amassing 33 points this season.

Nondies on their part showed impressive form, winning their last four matches of the season. The Rangers collected 31 points and secured a spot in the playoffs after returning to the top tier at the beginning of the season.

Continuing their dominance, Kabras RFC once again secured the top spot in the standings, marking the sixth consecutive season they have accomplished this feat. With an impeccable record, the Sugarmen won all 11 of their matches this season, dropping just one bonus point along the way.

Under the guidance of coach Carlos Katywa, Kabras RFC haven’t suffered a defeat since February 2022, amassing an impressive 54 points out of a possible 55. They’ve earned a direct slot in the semi-finals and will enjoy a weekend of rest.

Following closely behind, KCB Rugby clinched the second spot for the sixth consecutive season, tallying 45 points despite suffering two losses in the campaign. With a home semi-final secured, they won’t be in action this weekend.

Kisumu RFC avoided relegation after securing a crucial victory in their match against the Leos on match day 11, accumulating a total of 12 points.

On the other hand, Catholic Monks joined Homeboyz Rugby in dropping back to the KRU Championship league, having garnered 7 and -2 points respectively.
