After a successful season in the KRU Championship, newly promoted Kisumu RFC have boosted their squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Kisumu have raided former Kenya Cup sides Western Bulls and MMUST RFC for some of their signings. The club has also brought in players from Nakuru RFC, Menengai Oilers and Nakuru.
Kisumu RFC entries
Reinhardt Alolo joins the Brave Hearts from Western Bulls. The lock can also double up as a back row. Nelson Omukaba a forward and fly-half Stephen Kabasa.
Kabasa is added to bring competition and will compete for jersey 10 with Carlos Magara who has been with Kisumu from last season.
Players who are joining in from relegated side MMUST are Cornel Byron who is a lock who is joined by Kevin Omondi a prop.

Kisumu RFC have also brought in John Ochar a former Nakuru RFC winger. Impala centre Morris Osano will also be seeking to work under Buyachi in the coming season.
Steve Otieno joins from Menengai Oilers while Beverly Okumu a back-rower has been acquired from Nationwide side Maseno.
Kisumu RFC coach’s reaction
Speaking to the Scrummage Africa about his signings, Lawi said he is confident they are a great addition to the team.
“It’s a great addition to the side, all bringing the much-needed Kenya Cup experience and options to the fold. They have gelled well with their teammates and it will be super to see them running in the Blue jersey,” Buyachi said.
“We are expecting to see some of them in the coming Victoria Cup,” he stated.
