KCB Rugby have officially named Griffin Musila as their new captain in preparation for the upcoming Kenya Cup season, which is set to commence in November.

Musila, who has also represented the national team, the Kenya Simbas, is taking on the role of captain following the retirement of the long-standing captain, Curtis Lilako, a few months ago.

Musila is a hooker with multiple Kenya Cup championship victories under his belt. He will be keen to guide the team to regain its former glory after falling short of winning the 15s title in the last two seasons.

The club introduced their new captain with the following statement: “Here we are graciously introducing the new KCB Lions Rugby Captain Griffin ‘Vulture’ Musila. Here is a brief Bio of the new team Captain: Name – Griffin Musila, Education – Aeronautical Engineer, Occupation – Engineering, Modification, and painting, Hobbies – Movies, Driving fast (Adrenaline Junkie).”

Musila’s rugby journey began at Kakamega School, where he was appointed captain in 2011. While he didn’t secure the KSSSA 7s title during the Nationals held in Kakamega, he went on to lead the team to victory in the 15s format.

KCB will be keen to end their two-year wait for the Kenya Cup title, with their last coming in 2021.
