Impala and Kenya Harlequin squads for Ruff N Tuff 7s

Impala Rugby Club and Kenya Harlequin FC unveiled their squads for the , the Ruff N Tuff 7s, set for Saturday, 11 July at Ngong Racecourse.

Impala head into the tournament with Derrick Kinyari entrusted with the captaincy, leading an 18-man squad that blends experienced campaigners with exciting young talent.

Leon Onduso, Bonface Ogot, Brian Owino and Modechai Metternich are among the players expected to spearhead the side’s challenge as the club looks to make a strong start.

The squad also includes Stephen Opiyo, Ted Ng’ong’a, Benjamin Madaga, Eddy Otieno, Denzel Juma, Derrick Onyango, Peter Wabwire, Antony Omondi, Brian Were, Jordie Imbali, Conrad Hinga, Sultan Mikael and James Wakhu.

Meanwhile, Kenya Harlequin will be captained by David Mwangi, who leads a youthful squad aiming to make an immediate impact in the season opener.

Quins have retained several familiar faces, with Faran Juma, Albert Alela, Alvin Mutachi, Patrick Wainaina, Matthew Ouma, Brighton Omondi and Keith Wafula all named in the travelling squad.

Michael Ochieng, Ramadhan Masete, Derrick Shimenga, Simon Ochieng, Davis Otundo, Bradley Odero, Victor Gichana, Franklin Mukaisi, William Wagala and Lawrence Ndungu complete the 18-man squad.

The technical bench will be led by head coach Patrice Agunda, assisted by Strength and Conditioning coach William Ambaka, physiotherapist Gerald Omondi and team manager Wayne Mung’ei.
