Heading into the match, KCB aimed to extend their winning streak, having won the opening three matches of the season. In contrast, Mwamba faced the fixture after a challenging start, losing their first three matches and occupying the 10th position on the league log with a considerable point differential of 105.

In the game, Kenya Simbas prop Wilhite Mususi opened the scoring with an unconverted try. Captain Griffins Musila added to the lead with a converted try, courtesy of Darwin Mukidza, making his first start of the season.

Winger Michael Kimwele secured the third try for KCB, with Mukidza missing the conversion, resulting in a 17-point lead at halftime.

In the second half, KCB secured their bonus point with another try before Mwamba managed to score their first unconverted try, bringing the scoreline to 22-5. The bankers continued their dominance, adding 14 more points, including a try by substitute Kolian Persian, ultimately sealing a comprehensive 36-5 victory.
