South Coast Pirates sign TUM Marines duo

KRU Championship side South Coast Pirates have announced two more new signings ahead of the new campaign slated for November.

The pirates have signed James Ainea from Nationwide side TUM Marines. Ainea currently a third-year Marine engineering student at the Technical University of Mombasa plays as a lock.

The Alumnus of Masogo secondary school said he was happy to join the side which has a lot of talent and a dedicated coach Kevin Amiani.

“It feels great joining Pirates because it’s one of the greatest team known in the country today, here in pirates there’s a lot of talent present not forgetting the hard work and more so Coach Amiani love and dedicates his work here in the field which makes it more interesting to play in such a team,” he told the club’s media.

Utility forward Mohamed Hajj has also joined South Coast Pirates from  TUM Marines. The Uriri high school alumnus said he was ready for the new challenge ahead.

“I am excited to have made this move and looking forward to the big challenge ahead. It’s time to put in more work and help the club get promotion to top tier Kenya Cup,” he told the club’s media.

Hooker Sospeter Rofino has joined the club from Kenya Harlequins RFC on a five-year contract. Sospeter an alumnus of Koyonzo High School joins the forwards’ department having turned out for ESS side.

The 18-year-old said: “Am delighted for this move, it is a timely one if you may ask, at only 18 years I felt this was the best move for my career growth, am looking forward to my debut and be part of the history that will take part to Kenya cup’

On Thursday, the club unveiled two new signings. The club announced the signing of former Kabras RFC and Kenya Harlequin back  Kelly Akengo.

Akengo who has also played for MMUST and Jinja Hippos joined the club from Kabete Stallions RFC  while Mikey Odhiambo joined as a lock from Kisumu RFC.
