St Mary’s Yala are the Nyanza Region Schools Rugby 7s Champions after a 12-7 win over Nduru Boys High School in a final match played on Friday at the Asumbi Teachers Training College.

Two tries with one being converted were enough for the Siaya-based side to edge out Kisii County-based-Nduru Boys who had just one converted try.  The two sides are set to represent Nyanza Region in the National School Games.

It was sweet revenge for Yala who had fallen 12-0 to the Kisii County Champions in the preliminary matches of the competition.
