After week seven of the Currie Cup first division, Kenya Simbas are still ninth on the 10-team standings.
Paul Odera charges failed to contain Boland Cavaliers in the final minutes after a long medical break and ended up losing 45-33. The Simbas however picked a losing bonus point which sees them move to eight points.
The Simbas are expected to play SWD Eagles in the final match in South Africa before flying back home for the final two matches of the Currie Cup scheduled for Nairobi.
They will play Leopards at RFUEA Grounds on 4 June 2022 and will later tackle Eastern Province Elephants at the venue on 11 June 2022 in matches dubbed ‘Currie Cup Nairobi Series’.

The Simbas are using the Currie Cup matches to prepare for the Rugby Africa Cup 2022, which doubles as the final round of Rugby World Cup 2023 qualifying for teams on the continent. The matches will take place in France between 1-10 July, 2022.
Griffons have 30 points and are top of the standings while Eastern Province have 26 points at position two. Valke are third with 22 points with Black Lion coming four with 19 points.
Kenya Simbas next opponent Eagleas are also on 19 points but have an inferior point difference. Boland Kavaliers have 17 points on the log. Leopards and Zimbabwe Goshawks are tied on 12 points each.
