Nakuru RFC forward Amos Obae has revealed the reason behind the club’s fine run at the end of the National 7s Circuit campaign.
Wanyore put up a strong performance and reached their first final since 2018. In the tournament, Obae scored crucial tries in the Kabeberi 7s quarters and semi-final to send his side to the final.
Nakuru RFC’s best finish
Though the side failed to beat KCB in the final, they picked up 19 points and the tournament was their best finish in the just-concluded campaign.
Asked about the reason behind the change in performance of the team, Obae said, they had a slow start this season because a number of players were new to the circuit.
“We started the season slow because we had players who were appearing for the first time in the National Circuit,” he stated.
He has also expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance in the Circuit as understanding between players grew stronger. He believes they will have a great display in the 15s season.
