Nakuru RFC has unveiled its 13-man squad for the 2026 Prinsloo 7s, set to be played at the Nakuru Athletics Club on 25–26 July 2026.
The squad features a blend of experienced campaigners and promising young talent as the hosts prepare to challenge for top honours in the opening leg of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit.
One of the major boosts for Nakuru RFC is the return of Cyprian Ombaso, who is set to feature after missing the better part of the 15s season through injury. Ombaso made his competitive comeback earlier this year at the Great Rift 10s, and his inclusion is expected to strengthen Nakuru’s forward pack heading into the tournament.
The squad also boasts the services of Kenya Sevens international Crisant Ojwang’, whose experience on the international stage will be vital to Nakuru’s ambitions.
He is joined by Kenya Morans international Javan Otieno, one of the country’s brightest young talents, who will be eager to make his mark in the sevens circuit.
Some of the exciting names to watch in the squad include Joel Mboya, James Thiong’o, Gilbert Ochieng, and Fidel Wekesa, all of whom have consistently impressed with their performances and will be expected to play key roles throughout the tournament.
Nakuru RFC has been drawn in Pool D, where they are set to face Menengai Oilers, Impala RFC, and Blak Blad RFC in what promises to be a highly competitive group.
Backed by home support, the hosts will be aiming to make a strong statement in their quest for the 2026 Prinsloo 7s title.
