Menengai Oilers have reinforced their squad with six new signings ahead of the 2026/27 season as they look to mount another strong challenge in the Kenya Cup and National Sevens Circuit.

Leading the list of arrivals is Kenya Simbas centre Paul Mutsami, whose signature was one of the most sought-after during the transfer window.

Oilers beat fellow Kenya Cup giants Kabras Sugar to secure the services of the hard-running centre after his stint with Uganda Rugby Premiership side Victoria Sharks.

Mutsami’s arrival is expected to add experience, physicality and creativity to the Oilers’ midfield.

The club has also signed versatile back Meshack Andale from Impala RFC. Comfortable at both fly-half and full-back, Andale brings valuable top-flight experience and will provide additional options in the backline.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

From MMUST, Oilers have recruited former co-captain Veron Kaburu who also featured prominently during the Juja 7s. Joining him from the Kakamega-based side is Nelson Omukuba, a prop.

The forward pack has been strengthened by the acquisition of Brian Davids Otieno from Kisumu RFC. Widely regarded as one of the most promising locks in the Kenya Cup, Otieno’s arrival gives the Oilers added size, athleticism and lineout presence.

Completing the list of new faces is Kevin Karue, who joins the club through the New Player Registration (NPR) category.
