South Africa head into the 2026 edition as defending champions after winning the 2025 Africa Men’s Sevens title. The Springbok Sevens claimed the crown with a 28-12 victory over Madagascar in an entertaining final played in Mauritius.
Kenya Morans narrowly missed out on a podium finish in 2025, finishing fourth after a close 21-19 defeat to the Zimbabwe Cheetahs in the third-place playoff, also held in Mauritius.
It will be the third time in a row that the competition will be heading Mauritius.
