Nakuru RFC registered a back-to-back win in the Kenya Cup after seeing off Kisumu RFC at Kisumu Polytechnic on Saturday, moving seven points clear of the relegation danger zone.
Wanyore came into the encounter fresh from a victory over Impala RFC and were targeting another crucial result to climb further up the standings. They started strongly, crossing for two unconverted tries to take a 10-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the hosts responded with a drop goal to cut the deficit to 10-3. Nakuru, however, regained control and added two more unconverted tries to stretch the advantage to 20-3. Kisumu fought back late with a converted try to move to 10 points but fell short of securing a losing bonus point.
