Matchday nine of the 2025/2026 KRU Championship delivered drama, upsets and statement victories across the country, with the biggest shock coming in Kisii where JKUAT’s unbeaten run came to a crashing halt.
In Kisii, Kisii RFC stunned previously unbeaten JKUAT Cougars 22-12 to hand the students their first defeat of the campaign. The Cougars had looked untouchable in the opening rounds, but Kisii rose to the occasion on home soil.

In Nairobi, Mean Machine RFC flexed their muscles with an emphatic 39-24 win over USIU Martials. There was a dominant display from NYS Spades who thrashed Mombasa RFC 31-0. The Spades ran riot, shutting out the coastal side in a commanding performance that boosts their points difference and confidence heading into the final stretch.
In Kakamega, Homeboyz RFC picked up a crucial 27-17 away win over Western Bulls at Kakamega Showground.
Mwamba RFC were in ruthless form, dismantling Zetech Oaks 45-13. At the Coast, SC Pirates edged out CUEA Monks 25-18 in a tightly contested encounter.
