Menengai Oilers have named their squad to Strathmore Leos in Makadara with a number of notable changes, headlined by the return of Chrispine Shitundo to the number eight position after spending much of last season deployed in the midfield.
Shitundo’s shift back to the back row adds experience and physicality to the Oilers pack, with Ibrahim Ayoo captaining the side and Amos Obae serving as co-captain. The front row sees Destrious Ifedha start at loosehead alongside Fortune Aturo and Vincent Mwikhali, while Samuel Were partners Ayoo in the second row. Jadah Abdon and Obae complete the loose forward combination.
In the halves, Clarkson Keegan starts at scrum-half with Samuel Mwaura taking charge at fly-half. The backline features Beldad Ogeta on the left wing and Timothy Omela on the right, with Samuel Ovwamu and Brian Achacha pairing up in midfield. Achacha gets the nod at outside centre, while Abutwalib Wesonga starts at fullback.

One of the major talking points on the bench is the inclusion of Collins Kabayo, who is set to make his first appearance for the Oilers after joining the club from South Coast Pirates. He is among the reserves alongside Celestine Mboi, Byrone Cornel, Victor Were, Argwings Owino, Elkeans Musonye, Andrew Odero and Alvin Khavoli.
Oilers II have also been named ahead of the trip to Kisumu to face Kabras II, with Charles Osgood captaining the side and Samson Onsomu serving as co-captain. Allan Ochieng, Emmanuel Mulindo and Wyclef Ogutu start in the front row, while Eugene Etale joins Osgood in the engine room. Calvin Mulewa, Nelson Makokha and Erick Omanga form the back row.
Samson Onsomu partners Tony Oketch in the halves, with Wilson Tonya, Brian Oyugi and Kevin Chebet lining up across the backline alongside Lucky Onyango and Eric Ogutu. The bench features Reuben Njoroge, Francis Atiti, Bruce Endovo, Justin Lunale, Kevin Mukoyani, Collins Okoth, Moses Ajak and Thomas Ombasa.
