Kenya 7s will head to South Africa on January 12 for a week-long high-performance training camp as part of their preparations for the upcoming HSBC SVNS2 season, with the team scheduled to return on January 18.
The camp is a crucial component of Shujaa’s build-up to the Division 2 series, with attention firmly on the opening leg of the SVNS2, which Kenya will host in Nairobi on February 14–15, 2026. Training in South Africa is expected to expose the squad to elite facilities and high-intensity performance environments as they continue sharpening their game.
KRU Director of Rugby Paul Odera noted that the camp aligns with a broader high-performance programme aimed at ensuring the team is well prepared for the physical and tactical demands of the competition. Hosting the first leg in Nairobi has further raised the stakes, with Shujaa keen to set the tone in front of their supporters.

As the build-up gathers pace, the South Africa camp stands out as a key step in Shujaa’s journey towards a strong HSBC SVNS2 campaign.
