The 2025 Safari 7s Men’s category got underway in thrilling fashion at the Nyayo National Stadium, with Kenya Morans making a strong statement after defeating ReUnion 24-0 in their opening match.

The Morans were in full control from start to finish, with tries from Rayvone Ambale, Vincent Mola Odhiambo, and a brace from Arnold Agonda, sealing an emphatic victory to kick off their campaign.

Elsewhere, Zimbabwe produced an impressive display to claim a 33-17 win over Apache, while Kenya’s 2025 National Sevens Circuit champions KCB Rugby fell narrowly 17-14 to last year’s finalists Shogun in a tight encounter.

Shogun opened the scoring with a converted try before Jeankins Kipruto replied for KCB, with Brian Wahinya adding the extras to level at 7-7.

The final three fixtures of the day Uganda vs Nyati, French Renegades vs UK Select, and Kenya Shujaa vs Walukuba Rugby were scheduled to be played under floodlights, but were disrupted due to lighting challenges, bringing an early close to the opening day’s action.
