Blak Blad earned promotion back to Division I of the National Sevens Circuit after defeating Kabarak University 10-5 in the Prinsloo 7s Division II final at Nakuru Athletic Club.

Kabarak started stronger in the final, taking an early lead through Teddy Wachira’s unconverted try for a 5-0 advantage.

Blak Blad hit back before halftime through George Otete’s try to level the scores at 5-5, with both sides struggling to convert their opportunities.

In the second half, Blak Blad capitalized on a late penalty, opting for a quick tap that led to the winning try. Though the conversion was again missed, they held on for a 10-5 victory.

The result sees them return to Division I after being relegated following a disappointing performance in the Driftwood 7s.

Blak Blad had a perfect run throughout the Prinsloo 7s weekend. They kicked off their campaign with a 19-0 win over MKU Nairobi, followed by a 19-12 victory against NYS Spades, and closed their pool matches with a commanding 24-0 win over Molo RFC.
