Vihiga High School Rugby 7s continued their dominance in the Vihiga County 7s games, defeating Senende Boys High School 22-0 to retain the title in the final played at Esalwa Secondary in Luanda Sub-County.
The Vipers, also the 2024 Scrummage Africa 7s Champions, scored two tries in each half to secure their victory over Senende.
Melvin Mweresa opened Vihiga’s scoring in the early minutes of the game with an unconverted try. Felix Apwoka followed up with another unconverted try, giving Vihiga a 10-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Hurdson Makokha beat Senende’s defence to score a centre-post try, which Apwoka converted, extending Vihiga’s lead to 17-0.

Apwoka then grabbed a late-minute try to seal Vihiga’s win with a 22-0 scoreline.
Coached by Abubakar Abdalla, Vihiga High School has now won the title four times in a row and will be keen to impress at the regional level.
In the girls’ category, Madira claimed the championship, triumphing over Kisangula Girls with a 26-0 win. A brace from Diana Joy and a try each from Whitney Omari and Naomi Andeyo secured the championship for Madira.
