Cheetahs, Lions dominate the Rugby Super Series team of the week

The Rugby Super Series round one held on 4th of May at the RFUEA grounds has seen the Cheetahs and Lions dominate the team of the week list released by organizers.

The front row will see Cheetahs Destorious Ifedha featuring as the outside prop with a stat of eight tackles and three carries against the Buffaloes.

Celestine Mboi has made the team as the hooker  with a stat of three carries and a single line break that led to a try.

Buffaloes’ Hillary Mwanjilwa has been named as the inside prop with ten carries and three tackles in their day one match against the Cheetahs.

The locks will see Cheetahs Ibrahim Ayoo and Clinton Juma who are ranked with five tackles and three carries for Ayoo and six tackles, two carries and a try for Juma.

The loose forward positions will see Cheetahs’ Felix Odhiambo gearing as flanker alongside Lions’ Felix Ojow and Rhinos’ Sheldon Kahi will gear as the eighth man with each of them recording an over five carries and tackles stat and a try.

The half back positions will see Lions’ dual Emmanuel Opondo and Elvis Namusasi making the list after Opondo managed three tackles, a turnover and a try while Namusasi dominated his fly half position with four tackles, four kicking goals and a turnover.

The centers’ positions will be occupied by Lions’ Bob Muhati who managed four tackles, two carries and a retained kick as the inside center alongside Rhinos’ Paul Mutsami.

Mutsami managed to make the list with five carries, four tackles and an offload to boost his weekly stats.

The back three positions was evenly distributed with Griffin Chao being ranked as the best blind side winger with four carries, a single line break and an offload and will play alongside Rhinos’ Amon Wamalwa and Cheetahs’ Quinto Ongo.

Wamalwa is ranked best fullback of the week with seven carries, three retained kicks and a line break while Ongo has a stat of three Kicking goals, two tackles and a line break.
