Four teams from HSBC SVNS have been confirmed for the Promotion and Relegation competition set to take place in Madrid from May 31st to June 2nd.
The event will see the bottom four teams from the HSBC SVNS 2024 season, including the USA, Spain, Samoa, and Canada, compete against the top four teams from the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024.
The USA are in this playoffs after finishing ninth in the league phase with 52 points from seven rounds.
Spain, after narrowly avoiding the playoffs last year, will participate this year following a 10th place finish with 36 points.

Samoa enter the playoffs for the first time after finishing 11th with 29 points.
Canada, last year’s playoff winners, find themselves in this playoffs battle again after a bottom finish in the 2024 campaign.
Joining them will be the top four teams from the Challenger Series, with Kenya 7s and Uruguay currently leading the pack with 36 points each.
Chile and Germany are also well-positioned to feature in the competition, boasting 36 and 32 points respectively.
The top four teams from the promotion/relegation playoffs will earn qualification for The 2025 World SVNS Series.
