Rugby Super Series standings after round 1

After a decade-long break, the Rugby Super Series returned with action the RFUEA Grounds where two games unfolded, marking the start of an exciting rugby season.

In the opening round, the Lions dominated, securing a commanding 29-7 victory over the Rhinos. Led by Oliver Mang’eni, the Lions showcased talent from Kenya Cup heavyweights like KCB, Blak Blad, and Mwamba, along with players from JKUAT, South Coast Pirates. Their win earned them the top spot in the standings.

Close behind, the Cheetahs claimed second place with an impressive 18-5 win against the Buffaloes. Representing Nakuru, the Cheetahs displayed skill from players across various clubs. With the tournament heating up, teams are gearing up for more intense clashes.

The competition follows a round-robin format across Nairobi, Nakuru, and Kakamega over three match days. The top two teams will vie for the championship title in a thrilling final match.

Excitingly, this year’s series introduces a women’s competition, featuring the Eagles and Jaguars. These teams will battle it out over two match days, showcasing the growing talent in women’s rugby.
