The Kenya Rugby Union has officially announced a change in kick-off times for the scheduled time for matches in the return of the Rugby Super Series due to the heavy rains experienced across the country.
All the matches are scheduled to kick off in the early afternoon hours to ensure the players and fans are safe indoors before the heavy downpour.
“The kickoff time for the opening fixture on match day one of the Rugby Super Series has been brought forward.
This is as a result of the heavy rains currently being experienced in Nairobi and other parts of the country.
“Consequently, the clash between Buffaloes and Cheetahs now kicks off at 1.30 pm on Saturday 4 May 2024 at the KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka in Nairobi. The second fixture between Lions and Rhinos kicks off at 4.00pm at the same venue as originally planned,” Rugby Super Series confirmed.

The 2024 edition of the Super series is set to kickoff on Saturday 4th May and will showcase four men’s teams and two women’s teams, with the men’s teams representing Kenya Cup Clubs and the women’s teams comprising members of the National Lionesses’ squad.
The men’s teams will be named Buffaloes, Cheetahs, Lions, and Rhinos, while the women’s teams will be Eagles and Jaguars.
After the competition, the top two teams will advance to the final, while the remaining two will compete for the last two positions at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.
The women’s matches will occur in Nairobi, with the winners determined by the aggregate score over two games. All matches on any given day will be held at a single venue to maximize excitement and engagement for both players and fans alike.
The Rugby Super Series 2024 is scheduled to take place on four Saturdays (4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th of May 2024), with matches planned for Nairobi on the first and last weekends and in Nakuru and Kakamega in between.
