South Coast Pirates secured their promotion to the Kenya Cup after an impressive 30-15 victory over the Daystar Falcons at the Seacrest grounds in Diani.

It will be their first season in the top tier and they will now face off against Impala RFC in the finals slated for Seacrest.

The hosts got off to a strong start, with Kelly Akengo slotting a penalty kick in the early minutes of the game to put them ahead 3-0. However, the Falcons quickly responded with a penalty of their own to level the scores at 3-3.

As the game progressed, the Pirates capitalized on their opportunities, with Akengo converting another penalty to give them a 6-3 lead. Captain Charles Tendwa then broke through the Falcons’ defense for a well-earned try, which Akengo converted, extending their lead to 13-3.
