East African 7s Champions Koyonzo High School have been shortlisted for the Sportspersonality of the Year Awards (SOYA) boys category.

Koyonzo continued their dominance with an unbeaten streak for the second consecutive year, triumphing over Vihiga in the Western Region and successfully defending their National title.

Their rivalry with Vihiga culminated in a thrilling East African 7s final, where Koyonzo emerged victorious, claiming their maiden East Africa title.

Butula, the national 15s champions, have also been shortlisted following their historic victory in the KSSSA 15s.

Despite initially qualifying as Western Region Champions due to Koyonzo’s disqualification, Butula went on to clinch the 15s title under the guidance of coach Libondo Shimenga.

Their achievement was further highlighted by a silver medal in the East African Games held in Rwanda, solidifying their place among the nominees.
