KCB Rugby’s versatile back, William Opaka, will be sidelined for the remainder of the Kenya Cup season due to a knee surgery he underwent on Tuesday.

Opaka, who was part of the Kenya U20 team that clinched the Barthes Cup, last appeared for the bankers in their 64-10 victory over Kisumu RFC, where he made a notable contribution by scoring a try after coming off the bench. Unfortunately, he was unavailable for the subsequent match against Kenya Harlequin.

The club has confirmed that Opaka underwent surgery for a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury, which necessitates his absence for the remaining matches of the season.

“Let’s wish our speedy back William “Opashe” Opaka @opaka_gram a speedy recovery. Opashe had a successful Knee surgery (MCL) yesterday and will be out for the remainder of the season. Kumbe kukauka sio …. Nevermind.
Get well soon Champ,” the club statement revealed.

Opaka made a surprise move joining KCB Rugby from rivals Kabras RFC.  He went on to win the National 7s Series and the Impala Floodlit Cup.
