Kenya Rugby Union advertises Assistant Team Managers roles

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Team Managers for the Kenya 15s National Teams, as announced in their recent advertisement.

Prospective Assistant Team Managers will be working under the substantive Team Managers assigned to specific teams and closely collaborating with the KRU Secretariat.

To be eligible for this role, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a team manager in a Kenya Cup or Championship Club, and they should be Kenyan citizens.

Essential qualifications include relevant expertise in Administration and Management, with an added advantage of holding a World Rugby certification in Leadership and Management.


Candidates should demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity in both personal and professional dealings. Exceptional communication skills, with responsiveness to the needs of partners and sponsors, are crucial.

Strong planning and budgeting skills are also a prerequisite for the role. The ability to work independently without supervision, adhering to documented policy and procedure guidelines, is expected.

A successful track record of working effectively as a team member, along with a history of demonstrating self-leadership and initiative in various situations, is highly valued.

Additionally, candidates should showcase an ability to balance team needs and goals with the overall administration objectives of the Kenya Rugby Union.

A background reflecting people management, leadership skills, positive attributes, and good conduct is essential. Moreover, candidates should demonstrate a history of excellent stakeholder relations and workplace cooperation.
