KRU Championship top scorers after match day 3

After an exciting Championship three rounds, Eddie Wambugu, the Daystar Falcons’ fly-half, and Quinto Ongo from Impala RFC lead the KRU Championship scoring charts heading into the festive season break.

Eddie Wambugu scored outstanding points 34 within the three rounds followed by Quinto Ongo with 30 points. Ongo’s 30 points came from their opening two matches.

JKUAT Cougars’ Davies Masiga has 19 points. Ongo alos appears in the list of KRU Championship leading try scorers after the third round. He scored three tries same as Patrick Odongo and Augustine Owino both from the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Daystar Falcons are sitting on top of the KRU Championship standings after 3 rounds of play thanks to three bonus point wins.

The students have had an impressive start to the season and ended the year on high by handing Mean Machine a 50-5 hiding in the final match of the year.

Impala RFC are placed second with 14 points having also enjoyed a brilliant run in the opening two matches and have picked two winning bonus points.

SC Pirates come in third with 10 points, having played just two matches with their latest clash against JKUAT Cougars being pushed to January.

MMUST who dropped from the top tier last season sit at position four while Kabarak University, after having a false start, find themselves in position five with 7 points. UoE Trojans wrap up the play-off bracket at position six with 5 points.

JKUAT, USIU and Mombasa RFC occupy positions 7,8 and 9 respectively with 0 points. Western Bulls lie at position 10  having -1 points. Struggling University of Nairobi outfit Mean Machine find themselves in an awkward 11th position with -2 points.
