Ex-Nakuru RFC player Nyange dies

Kenya Cup side Nakuru RFC are mourning the death of their former player Levis Nyange who was aged 26.

Nyange who has been battling Leukaemia died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Diagnosed with Leukaemia

He was diagnosed with Leukaemia five years ago and was treated. He recently got a chest infection that triggered Leukaemia and led to his death.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing on of Levi Nyange, one of our former players. He was diagnosed with leukaemia in early 2018 and received treatment at KNH,” reads a statement by Nakuru.

“He has been in remission from leukaemia for 5 years until recently when he got a chest infection that triggered the leukaemia cells and got him admitted back at KNH,” the statement added.

“His condition later worsened and he succumbed to the illness on the morning of 26 August 2023.

“We, the Nakuru rugby fraternity send our sincere condolences to the family, friends and teammates of the Late Levis Nyange. May his soul rest in,” the statement concluded.
