Former Kenya 7s star Lavin Asego has called upon the Shujaa players to actively participate in their respective local clubs during the 2023 National 7s Circuit.

He also urges fans to show their support by attending the matches in large numbers.

The National 7s Circuit is set to kick off on July 1st and 2nd, starting with the Dala 7s tournament at Mamboleo Stadium. Asego, who won the Circuit with Mwamba in the past has emphasized the importance of Kenya 7s players representing their clubs in the Circuit.

Asego’s statement comes days after the criticism faced by Kenya 7s players during the recently concluded World 7s Series.

Fans expressed their disappointment with the players for not participating in the National 7s Circuit, knowing that their spots in the Shujaa squad were secure.

“On the flip, if you are a ‘7s star’ and you fail to turn up for your club during the local circuit without any valid reason, you are selling us short, we want to see you,” his statement reads

“I hope that as fans we all come out in large numbers to support the local 7s circuit, no one is coming to save our clubs apart from ourselves,” said Asego.
