Daystar Falcons forward Teddy Okwaro has began his road to recovery after undergoing a successful surgery at the Coptic Hospital.

The surgery was necessary to treat a fractured tibia, which he sustained during a match against Kisumu RFC in the KRU championship league at Madaraka grounds back in March as the side fought for a place in the Kenya Cup season.

During the game, Okwaro stepped in as the replacement for Celestine Mboi. Unfortunately, his impressive performance was cut short by the injury. However, with the surgery now behind him, Okwaro will be eager to return to the field in the next few months.

“Ted Okwaro had a successful surgery on Saturday at Coptic Hospital. Ted got a tibia fracture during our semi final against Kisumu RFC. The road to recovery has begun. Come back stronger Big Ted,” reads a statement by Daystar Falcons.

The timing of the surgery is significant as it precedes the upcoming Rugby 7s circuit. The National 7s series is scheduled to commence late next month in Eldoret. Okwaro’s successful surgery sets a positive tone for his recovery journey.
