Oscar Ouma in as Nakuru RFC parade squad for Nakuru derby against Oilers

Nakuru RFC have named a strong squad for the Nakuru Derby match pitting Menengai Oilers scheduled for Nakuru ASK Showground on Saturday 7 January. 

Former Kenya 7s star Oscar Ouma has been named in the midfield and will captain the side in the much awaited derby. He will partner with enterprising Chrissant Ojwang in the midfield.

Nakuru RFC’s back three

Gramwel Bunyasi and speedster Hannington Wabwire have been tasked with wing duties with Samuel Mwaura set to play at fullback.

The scrum half role will be held by James Macharia while Fredrick Odongo will don the fly-half jersey.

The pack has former Menengai Oilers player Rodgers Otieno starting at number eight while Felix Okoth and Cassius Omollo are the flankers.

Dan Githanga and Kenya Simbas lock Thomas Okeyo have second row roles while Newton Okeyo, Emmanuel Mboya and Mike Mare are the front rowers.

Edwins Makori, Philip Owuor are some of the experienced names on the bench.

Nakuru RFC have managed just one win from the opening four matches and will be hoping to collect another with this weekend.

They however face Menengai Oilers who are unbeaten and their last home loss was against Kabras in January 2022.
