For the third time in a row this season, Kenya 7s will not feature in the Cup Quarters after being held to a 5-5 draw by Spain in the final group stage match played at DHL Stadium.
Shujaa had lost to Argentina 19-5 in the first match, fell 31-5 to New Zealand in the second match and were hoping to pick points against the Spaniards.
Eduardo Lopez opened the scoring for Spain in the second minute while Nelson Oyoo playing in his 5oth tournament leveled the matters for Kenya 7s.
The match remained unchanged and all the sides could settle for was a draw. The draw sees Shujaa pick two points and end the group stage with four points.
Spain have six points while New Zealand and Argentina proceed to the last eight after amassing seven points each.
Shujaa now shift focus to the ninth place quarters scheduled for Sunday morning.
