Kenya 7s lost 31-5 to New Zealand in a Cape Town 7s Pool stage match played at DHL stadium in Cape Town on Saturday.
Damian McGrath charges needed a positive result in this fixture to boost their quarterfinal chances after a 19-5 loss to Argentina in the opener. New Zealand had also suffered a shocking 14-10 loss to Spain and needed a bounce back to keep their quarterfinal chances alive.

Shujaa however found themselves behind, two minutes into the game with Akuila Rokolisoa scoring for the All Blacks to lead 7-0 after he converted his own try.
Kenya 7s pulled back through Billy Odhiambo in the sixth minute for a 7-5 scoreline.

Amanaki Nicole added the second try for the All Blacks before Roderick Solo and Moses Leo scored to push the scoreline to 24-5.
Brady Rush scored the final try that pushed NZ in the 30’s handing them their maiden win this weekend. New Zealand and Spain have four points while Argentina lead the pool with six points.
Kenya 7s have two points and will face Spain in the final match.
