The Cape Town 7s Cup quarterfinal pairings have been known following the completion of the group stage matches played on Friday and Saturday.
After topping Pool C, New Zealand have been paired against Uruguay in the first cup quarterfinal match scheduled for Saturday night at the DHL stadium. Uruguay have qualified for the quarters for the time since earning promotion to the top tier.
Pool B winners Samoa will be up against Argentina in the second match of the quarter final stage. Argentina were runners-up in Pool C finishing behind NZ.
USA will be up against Fiji in the third quarterfinal match. USA won group D with eight points while Fiji finished second in Pool A to return to the quarters after last weekend’s miss.
Hosts South Africa have booked a date against Great Britain in the last quarterfinal match.
The ninth place quarters are scheduled for Sunday morning with Spain set to face Japan, Kenya 7s scheduled to take on Ireland.
Australia will play Canada as France tackle Uganda.
