Kenya 7s suffered a 19-5 loss to Argentina in the Cape Town 7s opener played on Friday in Cape Town.
Shujaa had just picked five points last weekend in Dubai and were seeking to improve this weekend. They however had a tough test as they had been paired against Argentina who had proved to be a tough nut to crack.
Kenya 7s lost possession following a knock on by Herman Humwa and off the resultant scrum, Argentina quickly raced and Agustin Fraga dotted a try after three minutes of play. The try went unconverted and the side led by just five points.
Fraga returned to the scoresheet two minutes later with a try that was converted to see the side take a 12-0 advantage to the break.
Shujaa’s second half fight back saw them pull back through Dennis Abukuse who grabbed his third try in the World 7s Series this season.
Juan Manuel Molinuevo sealed Argentina’s victory as he scored a try that was converted for a 19-5 win.
Shujaa will now face New Zealand in the second match scheduled for Saturday as they hope to bounce back.
