ESS wrap: KCB II beat Quins, Oilers hit a century past Machine

KCB II returned to Eric Shirley Shield campaign impressively as they defeated Kenya Harlequin II 20-14 in a match played at KCB Sports Club.

The Cubs scored through left winger  Cabrine Muhanga for a 5-0 lead. Gabriel Namusasi then doubled for the Cubs with the second unconverted try for a 10-0 lead.

Quins trimmed the gap with a converted try and headed to the break leading 14-10 after grabbing another converted try in the first half.

In the final half, the bankers were awarded a penalty which they converted for a 14-13 scoreline. They would win the match after grabbing a seven pointer in the clash that gave then a 20-14 scoreline.

Menengai Oilers were the biggest winners of the round as they put 102-3 points past visiting Mean Machine in a match played in  Nakuru.

Homeboyz were awarded a walk over after their hosts Mwamba failed to produce a second team f0r the ESS match. Blak Blad, Kabras RFC and Strathmore Leos all got walk overs after their opponents failed to travel win ESS teams.

The ESS which is the reserve league for Kenya Cup is back on scheduled for the first time since 2019/20 season.
