FEASSSA Awards: Butula ace claims top try scorer award, Hana playmaker wins MVP

Butula High School’s Rayvone Ambale was a joint top try scorer in the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association FEASSSA Rugby 7s held in Arusha from  Saturday to Wednesday.

Ambale had won the Most Valuable player and the top try scorer  award during the National School Games after scoring 20 tries and 14 conversions for a total of 128 points.

Eight tries in regional competition

He carried the form to the East African event and landed eight tries as Butula finished fourth in the regional competition.

The form two student who is part of the Kabras RFC junior squad stringed in five conversions in his maiden East African Competition to end up with 50 points.

Editor’s pick:

He had to share the top try scorer award with Uganda under 20 and Hana playmaker Daniel Malcolm Oketch who also bagged the top points scorer award after drilling in 14 conversions.

Oketch was the Most Valuable player in the 7s category. Elerai won the fair play award in the 7s version.

In the 15 category, Kings College Buddo’s Benjamin Muwanguzi was the Most Valuable Player. He was also the joint top try scorer after scoring five tries. He shared the award with Namilyango’s Darrell Mwaka.

Buddo’s Erem Kieron bagged the top points award after amassing 26 points. The 15s fair play award went to Makekere.

Top try scorer: Rayvone Ambale (Butula Highs School), Daniel Malcolm Oketch (Hana International School) -8 tries

Most Valuable Player: Daniel Malcolm Oketch (Hana International School)

Top points scorer: Daniel Malcolm Oketch (Hana International School)- 68

Fair play award: Elerai Tz

Most Valuable Player: Benjamin Muwanguzi -Budo

Top Try Scorers: Benjamin Muwanguzi- Budo, Mwaka Darrell – Namilyango -Five tries

Fair Play award: Makerere
