Koyonzo High school had an positive start at the KSSSA Rugby 7s National Schools Games being held at the Nakuru County and they are assured of a place in Sunday’s quarterfinals.
The Western Region Champions picked 45-0 win in their opener against former Eastern Champions Kangaru in a Pool C date.
They booked a place in the quarters following a a 22-14 win against Ngong Township. With six points, they will be keen to beat All Saints to top the pool.
All Saints who are Eastern Champions kicked off the campaign on a high as they beat Ngong Township 12-5 and thrashed Kangaru 33-0 to qualify for the quarters.
In Pool A, Ofafa Jericho had a dream start as they defeated Menengai 22-7 and narrowly edged Upper Hill 5-0.

Upper Hill and Menengai have one win each and will be hoping to join Ofafa in the quarters when they face off in the final match of the day.
Nanyuki High School have also qualified for the last eight after beating Shimba 14-7 in the first match and beat Kabianga 17-5 to advance to the quarters.
Alliance and Kabianga will be keen to qualify for the last eight as they play their final matches of the day.
Butula are also assured of a place in the quarters with a match to play.
The quarterfinal pairing will be confirmed after the final round match.
