2022 Kabeberi 7s Pools

Pools for the opening tournament of the National 7s Circuit- Kabeberi 7s have been confirmed ahead of the tournament scheduled for RFUEA Grounds on 21/22 May.

National 7s Circuit title holders KCB Rugby have been placed in Pool A alongside Kakamega based sides MMUST Rugby Club, Kabras RFC and Western Bulls.  Kabras return to Kabeberi after missing the 2019 Edition.

Hosts Mwamba Rugby Club who are the Kabeberi 7s defending Champions find themselves in Pool B alongside Nondies, Strathmore Leos and Mean Machine.

Pool C has 2019 second runners-up Homeboyz RFC, Menengai Oilers, Kenya Harlequin and Blak Blad.

The final Pool has Nakuru RFC,  Impala Saracens, Northern Suburbs and Daystar Falcons.

The National 7s Circuit returns after a two-year hiatus ocassioned by COVID-19.

Mwamba won the 2019 edition held in Meru beating Menengai Oilers 27-7 in a match that Steve Sikuta, Billy Odhiambo (2), Tony Omondi and Collins Injera scored in.

The George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens, popularly known as the Kabeberi Sevens, was first played in 1986 to commemorate the passing away of the charismatic George Mwangi Kabeberi, one of the founding members of the Mwamba club.

Over the years, the significance of the tournament has been expanded to honour departed club members, including recently departed Leeroy Okara, Absalom “Bimbo” Mutere, Aberdeen Shikoyi, Jimmy Owino and lately Victor Wayodi among others.

Pool B: Mwamba, Nondescripts, Strathmore Leos, Mean Machine
Pool C: Homeboyz, Menengai Oilers, Kenya Harlequin, Blak Blad
Pool D: Nakuru RFC, Impala Saracens, Northern Suburbs, Daystar Falcons

9/10 Jul: Prinsloo 7s, Nakuru Athletic Club, Nakuru

16th/17th  July: Kakamega 7s, The Bull Ring, Kakamega
