The pools for the Africa Men’s 7s tournament have been unveiled ahead of the competition scheduled to take place at Harare Sports from September 16 to 17, 2023.

The winner will book a direct ticket to the Paris Olympics while the second and third-placed teams will secure qualification for the 2024 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament.

South Africa, who were unable to secure a direct ticket to the Paris Olympics during the World 7s Series, enter the tournament as the top-seeded team in the Africa Men’s 7s.

The African Giants are determined to clinch victory and secure their place in the prestigious global event and will face off with Madagascar, Tunisia and Cote D’Ivoire.

Kenya 7s, on the other hand, find itself in Pool B as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing performance witnessed in 2022.

With aspirations of winning the title and securing a ticket to their third consecutive Olympics, Kenya 7s also seek to book a place in World Challenger Series with the hope of making an immediate return to the series.

They are pooled alongside Zambia, Namibia, and Nigeria who won the qualifying round.

Pool C promises exciting matchups as African champions Uganda and runners-up Zimbabwe find themselves grouped together, intensifying the competition among these formidable teams. The Pool Also has Burkina Faso and Algeria.
