Newly promoted Kenya Cup side JKUAT Cougars have begun preparations for their maiden campaign in the country’s top-flight league after registering seven new players ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Having secured promotion from the KRU Championship, the Juja-based outfit has opted to strengthen its squad through the New Player Registration (NPR) pathway as it gears up for the challenge of competing against established Kenya Cup sides.
The Cougars have registered Jotham Amonde, Cedric Chege, Ian Ndigwa, Joseph Asuma, Charles Obiero, Peter Igari, and Sospeter Nyagua, with all seven joining under the New Player Registration category.

The additions are expected to provide greater depth across the squad as JKUAT prepares for what will be a historic first season in the Kenya Cup.
The club earned promotion after an impressive Championship campaign and will now be looking to establish itself among the country’s elite rugby teams.
