Several talking points emerged from the latest round of the KRU Championship as Catholic Monks fell at home, JKUAT Cougars maintained their unbeaten run, Kisii RFC and SC Pirates bounced back to winning ways, Mwamba RFC stayed on course, while Western Bulls narrowly lost a high-scoring encounter.
At the NYS Grounds, Western Bulls were involved in a thrilling contest but fell just short as NYS Spades edged them 33-30 in a pulsating, end-to-end encounter. Bulls pushed the hosts all the way in one of the highest-scoring matches of the weekend, but Spades held their nerve to claim maximum points.
Kisii RFC returned to winning ways with a solid 13-8 victory over USIU Martials, producing a disciplined defensive display to shut down the visitors and grind out an important home win.

SC Pirates also bounced back after recent setbacks, overcoming Mean Machine 21-12 in a well-fought contest. The Sea Robbers saw off the students to secure a morale-boosting victory.
Mwamba RFC continued to stay on course in their campaign with a convincing 24-10 win over Mombasa RFC. Catholic Monks endured a disappointing outing at home as they went down 28-20 to Homeboyz RFC ending their four-match winning streak.
JKUAT Cougars underlined their title credentials by remaining the only unbeaten after a dominant 31-12 victory away to Zetech Oaks. They have four wins and draw in five matches.
