Kisumu RFC have continued to strengthen their squad ahead of the remainder of the season, bringing in halfback Victor Wawire and Edmond Angonya from Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar RFC in the latest round of mid-season transfers.
The duo add to a growing list of players who have crossed over from the reigning champions, with Hamza Kassim, Noel Harun, and Dan Angwech already having made the switch earlier in the window.
The influx of talent from Kabras underlines Kisumu RFC’s intent to reinforce key areas as they look to improve their competitiveness in the league.
Wawire’s arrival boosts Kisumu’s options at halfback, bringing composure and experience to the spine of the team. The club has had already secured the services of Antony Omondi Owino on loan from Menengai Oilers, further strengthening their ranks.

In addition to the Kabras contingent, Kisumu RFC have brought in several new faces from the local scene, including Derrick Ouma Ochieng, Wayne Joseph, Innocent Indeche Murunda, Ayub Sisia Kuya, Joel Marsh Otieno, and Maurice Otieno Adhola, as part of a broader recruitment drive aimed at building squad depth and competition for places.
Meanwhile, MMUST Rugby have also been active in the transfer market, reinforcing their squad with five signings as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
The Kakamega-based side have added Eli Juma Makotsi from Shamberere, alongside Keith Kevin Wafula, Alwine Kwemoi Simoto, and Mike Omondi Omollo, as they look to bolster their depth and competitiveness.
