Lurambi Young Boys were crowned champions of the inaugural Cleo Malalah 7s after a commanding 19–0 victory over Shinyalu Wailers in the final played at the Bull Ring.
Lurambi made a flying start to the contest, opening the scoring through youngster Roy Maruti, who beat his marker on the left flank before touching down to give his side a 5–0 lead, an advantage they carried into the break.
After the restart, Mike Lukusi produced a moment of individual brilliance, slicing through the Shinyalu defence with dazzling footwork before diving under the posts. He then added the conversion to double Lurambi’s lead.
Impact substitute Dan Wawire put the result beyond doubt after coming off the bench, cutting through the defence to score Lurambi’s third try and seal a 19–0 win.
Lurambi Young Boys capped off a flawless tournament, winning all six of their matches and conceding just one try en route to lifting the trophy in the competition’s maiden edition.
The Hon. Cleo Malaah has confirmed rugby will alway be part the Super Cup.
